A Remnant

In ministry, not all will respond positively to the truths that God has given you to convey. This is because not all are ready to go the distance with Him. But God does not leave Himself without a witness; for every bunch who choose to worship from afar, or not worship at all, there are one or two (a remnant) who are on fire for the Lord and are eager to hear all He has to say. So, true servant of God, preach on!

And when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked, while others said, “We will hear you again on this matter.” So Paul departed from among them. However, some men joined him and believed, among them Dionysius the Areopagite, a woman named Damaris, and others with them.

—Acts 17:32–34

Our focus

We who serve the Lord ought to be focused on preparing the bride of Christ for her Groom (God’s agenda) rather than on building our own ministries (our agenda). For this, we should frequently seek God’s help.

And they came to John and said to him, “Rabbi, He who was with you beyond the Jordan, to whom you have testified—behold, He is baptizing, and all are coming to Him!” John answered and said, “A man can receive nothing unless it has been given to him from heaven. You yourselves bear me witness, that I said, ‘I am not the Christ,’ but, ‘I have been sent before Him.’ He who has the bride is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice. Therefore this joy of mine is fulfilled. He must increase, but I must decrease.
